SHANGRI-LA HIRE

 

Shangri-La Garden Hire Terms

These Hire Terms apply to all bookings of the Shangri-La Garden at Pillar of Light. By confirming your booking, you agree to these Terms.

1. Booking

The Shangri-La Garden is hired exclusively for the event approved by Pillar of Light.


The venue may only be used for the purpose agreed upon at the time of booking. Any additional activities, services, or commercial use must receive prior written approval from Pillar of Light.

The venue cannot be sublet, transferred, or hired to another person or organisation without written permission.

Please email your final guest numbers to admin@pillaroflight.com.au once your attendance numbers have been confirmed.

2. Access

Access to the venue is via the rear entrance using the approved key, roller door, or keypad code.

Your booking includes reasonable use of the shared facilities.

 

3. Booking Times

Please include both your set-up and pack-down time when making your booking.

Your booking time must cover your entire use of the venue, including:

  • Setting up 
  • Guest arrival 
  • Your event 
  • Cleaning 
  • Packing up 
  • Vacating the venue 

There is only a 15-minute changeover between bookings. Please be respectful of other practitioners and hirers who may be using the space before or after your event.

To ensure everyone has equal access to the venue, please arrive and leave within your booked times.


4. Included in Your Hire

Your booking includes the use of:

  • Wi-Fi
  • Electricity and utilities
  • Kitchen facilities
  • Toilets
  • Existing appliances
  • Crockery and cutlery
  • Tables and chairs (where available)

5. Insurance

All external hirers must hold Public Liability Insurance of at least $20 million.

A current Certificate of Currency must be emailed to admin@pillaroflight.com.au before your booking. Access to the venue may be refused if this document has not been received.


6. Housekeeping

Please leave the venue clean and tidy for the next guests.

Before leaving, please:

  • Wash and dry all dishes used.
  • Wipe benches and food preparation areas.
  • Return furniture and equipment to their original position.
  • Empty full bins and replace bin liners if required.
  • Leave bathrooms clean and tidy.
  • Replace toilet paper or paper towels if needed.
  • Turn off lights, air conditioning, and appliances.
  • Lock the venue unless instructed otherwise.

Additional cleaning or repair costs may be charged if the venue is not left in a reasonable condition. 

Any appliances or utilities left running after your booking, including air conditioning, heaters, lights, or other electrical equipment, may incur a reasonable Fair Use Charge to cover additional electricity and operating costs. 


7. Damage

The hirer is responsible for any damage, loss, or breakages caused during the booking.

Any repair or replacement costs may be charged to the hirer.


8. Parking

There is no on-site parking available during events, as this can cause parking congestion for clients and neighbouring businesses.

Guests are asked to park on the following nearby streets:

  • Maclagan Avenue
  • Brand Avenue
  • East Avenue before House No. 37 only (there is No Standing beyond this point)

Please ensure all vehicles are parked legally and do not block driveways or neighbouring properties.


9. Respect for the Venue

Please respect the venue, neighbouring properties, and the surrounding community.

Excessive noise, illegal activities, smoking inside the venue, or behaviour that is unsafe, abusive, or disruptive may result in the event being ended immediately without refund.


10. Conflict Resolution

Pillar of Light values respect, kindness, and open communication.

If any concerns or disagreements arise, both parties agree to communicate respectfully and make every reasonable effort to resolve the matter in good faith.


11. Refund Policy

All cancellation requests must be made in writing and emailed to admin@pillaroflight.com.au.

Refunds are based on the amount of notice given before the booking date:

  • More than 8 weeks' notice: 50% refund.
  • 6 to 8 weeks' notice: 25% refund.
  • Less than 6 weeks' notice: No refund.

Bookings are not transferable without prior written approval from Pillar of Light.

If Pillar of Light cancels the booking due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund of the venue hire fee will be provided.

12. Liability

The hirer is responsible for the safety and behaviour of all guests attending their event.

Pillar of Light is not responsible for any loss, theft, damage, or injury to people or personal property during the hire period.

By confirming your booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Shangri-La Garden Hire Terms.
